New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission Strike Contingency Plan

All For-Hire Vehicles and Commuter Vans licensed by the TLC will be authorized to pick up multiple fares. This will include the pick-up of passenger street hails. TLC licensed vehicles are also authorized to pick up passengers in bus stops, and at park & ride and carpool locations. Taxis and livery cars will operate on a modified fare schedule based upon the zone of travel. Taxi and Livery Zone Map

For taxis and for hire vehicles the maximum intial charge is $10 for travel in one zone. There is a $5 charge for entering additional zones.

For commuter vans the charge is $5 per person regardless of destination.

There are also maximum rates for travel to airports. $30 for trips between Manhattan and JFK
$20 for trips between Manhattan and LaGuardia Airport
Trips to or from JFK or LaGuardia will be charged by assessing the zone charges.
The fare structure to Newark Airport remains unchanged.

If taxis or for hire vehicles are not abiding by the TLC's rules you can file a complaint or call 311.
